They told me that beyond the mountains there are more mountains. But I didn’t know there was a queen atop each one supporting a queen on another mountain. This is the 3rd in a series of collages I am making on the theme of Black body memory, a term introduced to me by my dear friend and colleague Dr. Autumn Redcross in her dissertation on the subject. This particular one was inspired by the Haitian proverb (derye mon genyen mon) and the beautiful song “Queen” by INEZ. The word will never be a cliche to me. Those mountains have been climbed. That support runs deep. So grateful for all the queens who have shined on me.
