Save draft.

Ok so you got that email and you are fit to be tied. I mean who in the world is this person talking to?! You feel strongly that they are just wrong wrong wrong. You tap that reply button and you go to town. As appetizing as it may be to hit that send button, resist it like a 3,000 calorie sliver of cake. Instead type away and then save it to your drafts. I call this a demotion. You have effectively changed the position of their message and given yourself space to move on to something else without losing the thoughts you had when it first came in. Demoting from your sent messages to your drafted messages is a mark of professional maturity. The more you do it, the better you will feel about managing difficult messages. Pro-tip from our friend Amy: Take the address out of the reply line so you don’t accidentally send the message. Lol. Thanks, Dr. Nagy!
