Tahirah Walker, PhD
I am a reader, a writer and a teacher. I grew up in and around Newark, NJ later moving to Pittsburgh. PA where I earned a PhD in Communication and Rhetorical Studies. I am inspired by a wide range of writers, musicians, and visual artists. My passion is celebrating the accomplishments and everyday lives of Black womxn and girls. I am currently working on pieces that explore relationships in Black families where religious diversity is prominent and gender is in constant negotiation. Complicated grief, Black womxnhood, and appreciation for resistance art are central themes in my work.
